Cerro Frías, 1,095 meters above sea level, is isolated in the middle of a valley, allowing you to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Centinela Valley and Torres del Paine (Chilean National Park) during the ascent; to the west, the peninsulas of Magallanes and Avellaneda and, to the north, Cerro Fitz Roy. The view also encompasses the main body of Lake Argentino, its Brazos Rico and Norte, and Boca del Diablo.
Located within the lands belonging to Estancia Alice, 23km from El Calafate and on the way to the Perito Moreno Glacier, Cerro Frías is a magnificent opportunity to spot wild flora and fauna of the region as well as ranch animals. In addition to the bushy vegetation characteristic of the Patagonian steppe, you can see the forest of lenga trees on the southern slope of Cerro Frías.
At the Estancia we offer 4 guided adventure tourism activities, which are carried out simultaneously through different circuits of Cerro Frías: 4×4, Zip Line, Trekking and Horseback Riding.
We have 3 daily departures so that no one misses the opportunity to live an unforgettable experience in a surprising natural environment. The dynamics of the activities also allow members of the same group to carry out different activities, since all the passengers meet in the Estancia Alice’s Quincho before starting the return journey.
Passengers will also have at their disposal a beverage service (not included) that works in the Quincho de la Estancia, where they can relax and enjoy the surroundings before returning to El Calafate.

08.30 to 12.30
2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

We begin the activity by ascending Cerro Frías along mountain paths with views of the main body of Lake Argentino until we stop at the first viewpoint located at 450 meters high, with views of the Centinela River valley. We continue ascending to the second viewpoint (1,030mts) with views of the Torres del Paine, the Rico and Sur branches of Lake Argentino, the Boca del Diablo, the highest peaks of the Andes Mountain Range and Cerro Fitz Roy, if the weather conditions permitting.
We continue the journey descending through our native lenga forest on the southern slope of Cerro Frías, culminating in the Quincho of the ranch house.

08.30 to 12.30
2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

We begin the route crossing a meadow or mallín, to start climbing the slopes of the mountain. After 30 minutes, we have views of the Centinela Valley and the Torres del Paine. The tour continues uphill until reaching elevated fields on the hill, where eventually the cattle of the ranch (cows) and wild animals such as guanacos, hares, foxes, armadillos and skunks (skunks) can be seen. After appreciating the landscapes, the descent begins until reaching the Quincho of the estancia’s hull.

08.30 to 12.30
2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

After removing the necessary mountain equipment in our quincho, we will ascend the southern slope of Cerro Frías in 4×4 vehicles to a platform located at 560 meters above sea level, to begin the zigzag descent through five sections of approximately 500 meters each that complete one of the longest zip lines in South America. At the end of the activity, we will return to the quincho of the ranch house to have lunch or a snack.

08.30 to 12.30
2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Our trails are adapted to the needs and aptitudes of different groups. We start from the Quincho crossing the southern slope of Cerro Frías, from which we will appreciate panoramic views of the Centinela Valley, Lake Argentino, Brazo Rico del Lago Argentino and Torres del Paine. The landscape combines steppe and a native lenga forest that are home to different types of plants and animals ready to be discovered by the eye.
