The Seno Mayo (or Brazo Mayo), is one of the most humid sectors of the National Park, that is why the vegetation that can be selected during the two walks (which we will carry out in the Andean Patagonian forest) is totally different from the one that Observe in other places National Park.
The “Mayo Spirit Trek” is the perfect combination of trekking in the forest, with views of waterfalls, rivers, hanging glaciers and a visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier (navigation + walkways). Suitable for all audiences, with low difficulty walks, it makes our passengers fascinate with our excursion.

May Spirit Trek Program
Our boat sets sail from the port of Punta Bandera and enters the Canal de los Témpanos del Lago Argentino. The first stop (without disembarking) is in front of “Punta Bandera”, where Francisco Pascasio Moreno performed the baptism of Lake Argentino (on February 15, 1877). There, the boat guide explains the history of the place, and we will see the mast that marks this important site in our history. Continuing with the navigation, we enter the Seno Mayo of Lake Argentino.

1st Landing: Toro Bay
(Total distance of the walk: 700mts. Approx. / Difficulty: none, flat terrain.)
We will disembark at Bahía Toro and, accompanied by our guide, we will take a walk to our next stop. Interpretation through the Patagonian Andean forest (made up of sour cherries, cinnamon trees, lengas and ñires). We will arrive at a specimen of centenary sour cherry (baptized “El Abuelo”), which has a trunk of more than three meters in diameter.
Next, we will attract the forest until we reach a waterfall, which gives rise to a beautiful stream. The guide will give us an interpretive talk about that area. From the shore of the lake, we can see the hanging glaciers of Cerro Mayo and Cerro Negro.
We will return to the boat and, in just 15 more minutes of navigation, we will arrive at

2nd Landing: Cerro Negro
(Total distance of the walk: 1,000mts. Approx. / Difficulty: low, gentle slope.)

We will disembark at Cerro Negro and, together with the guide of the boat, we will begin a walk into the Andean Patagonian forest. During our walk, we will go along a river that will take us to Cerro Negro (properly said). We will arrive a few meters from the base of said Hill and (from there) we will be able to contemplate the wonderful Black Glacier. This glacier is a “hanging” glacier, this means that it is on the mountain, “hangs” from it. From it, a large number of waterfalls are born, which give rise to the river that we skirted throughout our walk.
We will stay in this place for a while, observing the incredible landscape around us and then we will return to the boat that will take us to our next destination…

3rd Landing: Perito Moreno Glacier
Returning to navigation, balance of Seno Mayo to navigate again through the Canal de los Témpanos. In a few minutes, we will begin to see (at the end of the Canal) the northern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier. When we get there, we will make a slow navigation in front of said measurement during which we will be able to consider its height, its extension, and (if luck is on our side) we will be able to see some landslide. We will also navigate in front of the area where (we produce the phenomenon of the rupture of the glacier, a fact that has given it international fame).
Then we will be disembarking in Puerto Moreno to go (in the company of our guide) to the footbridges, which are in front of the Perito Moreno glacier. Once there, we will have free time to walk and observe the glacier from the different balconies.
At the time set by the guide, we will return to the port to re-board and return to our last stop, the port of Punta Bandera.
